Our Vision

The Vision of Project Africa is carved from a background of the need to empower women and girls in rural Africa as key agents of change. Women bear almost all reponsibility for meeting basic needs of the family both as breadwinners and caregivers, yet are systematically denied the resources, information and freedom to make decisions and take appropriate action they need to fulfill this responsibility.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to support social and economic empowerment for women and girls living in rural Africa through education and training, healthcare, and provision of resources needed for enterprise development. We aim to achieve this through our model of learning by doing and earning.

 Our Activities

  • Provide basic education and vocational training opportunities to rural girls and women through establishing educational centers nearer to the rural women and girls in need. Our approach of education and mentoring program empowers the trainees to learn by doing and earning. It also encourages privileged development mentors with skills to pass it on to the women and girls.
  • Initiate, organize and implement human rights programs and workshops that would go to   promote and protect the rights of women and girls in rural areas, and advocate for gender equality.
  • Help in the alleviation of rural unemployment and poverty by encouraging women to create income generating activities and cottage industries.  We provide women with business  education, vocational skills and   start up loans, equipment and working space to venture in various social enterprises.
  • Support widows, single mothers and destitute girls with food, clothing, education, health and shelter.
  • Rescue girls threatened with early marriages as a result of family pressure and/or unplanned teenage pregnancies.  We provide counsel and   seek assistance to have the girls continue with their education.
  • Create awareness and sensitization campaigns in rural centers on primary health care, family planning, immunization and vaccination, HIV/AIDS/STD, sanitation, and sex education and     urge the community to shun harmful traditional practices that undermine the rights of women.
  • Organize volunteer and work camps programs where local and international individuals and groups can join hands and skills with the local population to foster developmental activities
