PROJECT AFRICA is a non profit organization, that brings together both men and women from all over the world to be keepers of their sisters in Africa while  bringing with them the essense of responsibility and charity that aims at making a different.

The concept of empowering women in Africa to help themselves is a timely initiative in mainstreaming gender and fighting poverty.

We believe that we have a moral responsibility to ensure that women in rural Africa are given the skills and resources they need to support themselves and to enjoy  the broadest opportunities for self-fulfilment,sustainability and development.

Biashara Camp & Women Business Centre

Following an intensive Biashara Camp held  from January-March 2010 with Project Africa development  Mentors  Marina Molander and Lisa Sundström, At  least 20 women from the  rural Godo village in south coast, Kenya established  a Women's Business Centre dubbed Neema Project. The  women rehabilitated anold farm house and converted it into a village "super market" with each of the participants finding space to sell her wares and earn an income. Biashara Camp is a program of Project Africa  that aims to empower rural  women with business education and financial literacy for enterprise development.

Project Africa is about expanding the availability of such skills and resources to reach the marginalized rural women  and girls in Africa and broadening their capacity to rise above the social challenges.  By emphasizing the fact  that GIFT of being a WOMAN (mother/wife , daughter/sister) is  far beyond the stereotype  roles spelt  by  traditions. We believe that  women   and  girls in Africa have  the ability  to re-build  Africa from the ruins  caused by  poverty,  HIV/Aids, gender  inequity  and other  social challenges if only they can be EMPOWERED.

Please take the time to find out about what we can do. I hope, you will be able to contribute to making our vision come to pass.
