Swahili Language Courses

Background:  Project Africa endeavors to promote the heritage of Africa beyond her borders. For this reason We offer tailor made Swahili  language  courses for  those who  want to travel to East Africa as volunteers, Humanitarian aid workers , business prospects or simply  as tourists. Welcome to our class. 

 

Ours is a regular three month Swahili for Beginners courses throughout the year and two months Intensive Swahili for Beginners courses twice a year. The contents of these two courses are similar but they differ in the length and targeted participants.

 

Our Vision in project Africa remains the need to empower rural women in Africa with skills and resources for enterprise development.  This Swahili course is our tool for outreach and development. Funds raised through these Courses will go towards building a school and women leadership academy in Lungalunga, Kwale district in the coast of Kenya

 

Swahili for Beginners Comprehensive Course Code: PA-Swa1
Duration: 3 Months (5th feb start)
Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays (6.00pm- 8pm)

Swahili for Beginners Course: This is a three month program with a total of 48 teaching hours which include comprehensive discussions. This program is intended for participants who have shortly visited East Africa and those with a foresight of the Swahili culture and people thus require a basic introduction to the Swahili language.

Course Objectives: By the end of the course participants will:

  • Be competent in basic communication by using simple language within various topics such as greetings, self-introduction, buying and bargaining at a shop/market etc.
  • Have acquired the basic knowledge of the structure, vocabulary and culture on which to build more effective communication with colleagues, friends and neighbors.

Course Content:

·         To converse with ease, using “survival language” in the community; i.e. self-identification, ordering, bargaining and buying things in shop or restaurant etc.

  • Basic language structure

Target Group: Volunteers, humanitarian aid workers, diplomats, businessmen/women, and tourists to East Africa or any other People who want to learn Swahili.

Intensive Swahili for Beginners.

Duration: 3 months
Schedule.   Tuesdays (6pm-8pm)

Background: We offer a three month Intensive Swahili for Beginners courses with one lesson per week (total 24 teaching hours) only for those who already know a little Swahili and are fast learners

 

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course participants will:

  • Be competent in basic communication by using simple language within various topics such as greetings, self-introduction, buying and bargaining at a shop/market etc.
  • Have acquired the basic knowledge of the structure, vocabulary and culture on which to build more effective communication with colleagues, friends and neighbors.

Target Group: People who want to learn Swahili. This course is intended for participants who are fast learners since the pace is so intense.
